Jack graduated from North Carolina State University in 2021 with a BSc in Crop and Soil Science. During that time, he worked as an undergraduate research assistant in the NC State Vegetable Pathology lab field program. Upon graduation, Jack decided to remain with the lab as a Master’s Student. His research project focused on identifying fungicides and application timings that would optimize the management of multiple sweetpotato pathogens that would adhere to the residue standards of major export markets. He also assisted the field program by conducting contract trials for diseases in basil, pepper, cabbage, lettuce, and broccoli. Jack received an MSc in Plant Pathology in 2024. His research is focused on determining optimal nematicide application timing to target specific growth stages in southern root-knot nematode in turfgrass.
